A poll is a quick and informal way to test a viewer's level of comprehension. A poll will automatically pause the video at a specific time and ask the viewer a question. Polls are shown as an overlay in the video and allow viewers to answer multiple choice questions.
Adding a poll
Follow these steps to add a poll to a project:
- Login to Video Cloud Studio.
- Open the Interactivity module.
- Click on a project Title to open it.
- In the right toolbar, click on the polls icon.
- The Quiz/Poll editor panel will expand, allowing you to configure your poll.
Configuring questions
In the Questions section, you can add and manage poll questions:
- Click New Question to add a question
- Enter the question text directly in the poll annotation in the player
- Add choices by clicking on the "+ choice" button
- Remove a choice by clicking on the "x" button on the right of the choice
- Select correct choices by clicking on the left "x" button next to the correct answer
- Add additional questions using the right toolbar button
- Navigate across questions using the arrows on the gray menu at the top of the annotation
- Delete questions using the red "x" button
Customizing style
The Style section allows you to customize the appearance of your poll:
- Poll Card - Customize background, border, border radius, question text color, and focus outline
- Answers - Set text color, background, border, and selection highlight color
- Button - Customize button background, border, and text color
Setting preferences
The Preferences section controls the timing and behavior of the poll:
- Start Time - When the poll appears (e.g., 00:26.00). The Start Time field accepts various formats including seconds, time format (00:20.000), percentage (15%), or negative time (-15 for 15 seconds before the end)
- End Time - When the poll disappears (e.g., 00:31.00)
- Pause video when poll appears - Automatically pause the video when the poll is displayed
- Show Results - Display poll results to viewers after submission
- Allow viewer to see correct answers - Show which answers were correct after submission
- Allow Retry - Enable viewers to attempt the poll multiple times
You can also use the timeline feature to modify the poll start and end times by dragging the annotation borders.
Completing the poll
- After configuring all settings, click Done.
- Click to generate the embed code.
- Click Preview to test your poll and confirm it appears and functions correctly.
Reviewing poll data
